The SSHS Interact Club has been busy lately. Last week they spent an afternoon at St. Vincent de Paul Dining Hall preparing 400 sandwiches. They were then able to help serve the evening's meal to homeless individuals and people in need. Ms. Regan does an incredible job of giving our students opportunities to discover the power of Service above Self, as they develop leadership skills through this extension of the Rotary Club. #SSHSWildcats #InteractClub #CCSUtah

Braxten Blazzard feels just as at home on the range as he does actually at home. He got the high honor of being selected to attend the 77th annual meeting of the Society for Range Management (SRM). As a High School delegate, Braxten participated in the High School Youth Forum (HSYF) where he met people from different countries and learned more about the international organization. Another activity that was part of the Forum was the paper presentation competition. A panel of judges deems the top five papers and recognizes the writers at an awards ceremony. Congrats to Braxten for winning one of those top five spots with your paper presentation. #WeAreSouthSummit #SRMHSYF #Rangelands

SSHS student Dayton is known as Dayton Fry the Science Guy to the fourth graders at South Summit Elementary School. That's because he has been sharing his love of science with them for the past month. Dayton is South Summit High School's Sterling Scholar representative in the Science category. He's always loved science and even made it to the state level science fair in 6th grade. Science can seem a little intimidating for some kids and Dayton wanted to show them how fun it can be. These fourth grade students had a blast making bubbles and lava lamps with Dayton Fry the Science Guy! #WeAreSouthSummit #SSHSWildcats #SSElemWildcats #UTPublicEd
You've likely heard about our school board and school board meetings. Many people don't know what school board members actually do. Besides committing to monthly meetings, they approve policies, capital projects and funds, budgets, new hires, and more. School board members spend more than just a couple hours a month at a meeting. They volunteer more than just their time and we appreciate all they do for South Summit School District. #WeAreSouthSummit #SSSDBoardOfEd #SchoolBoardRecognitionMonth

We can't forget about our student school board members. They are an integral part of the team. With representation from both South Summit High and Silver Summit Academy, they bring student concerns to the board and take board information back to their schools. #WeAreSouthSummit #SSSDBoardOfEd #SchoolBoardRecognitionMonth #StudentSchoolBoardMembers
