SSHS girls who want to try out for the Volleyball Team: Tryouts will be held July 31st through August 3rd from 3 pm to 6 pm at the high school's big gym. Come prepared to work hard and play a lot of volleyball. Bring good gym shoes, water bottles, and kneepads. We will start on time and end on time. High school boys interested in trying out for the Golf Team: The two day tryouts are Tues, Aug 1st at 6:30 a.m. and Thurs, Aug 3rd at 6:30 a.m. Both days will be held at ROUND VALLEY GOLF COURSE in Morgan, UT. Each player will be responsible for paying the course ($8 each day) and for transportation to and from the course for the tryouts. We are looking to fill 12 spots and possibly a couple alternates depending on scores and interest. Please wear appropriate golf attire to the course each day. The district is considering an English Language Development Curriculum to support our students who are learning English as a second language in grades 4-12. The board will be taking input from employees of the district and parents of students in those grade levels this Thursday, July 13th, at board meeting and again on August 10th.

The South Summit School Board will have a vacancy effective August 16, 2023 due to the resignation of the board member representing Precinct 5, South Summit West and South Summit South. Anyone who resides in Precinct 5, who is interested in being appointed to fill the vacancy may submit their name and contact information to Dawn McMillan at dmcmillan@ssummit.org by July 11, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. This will be a 17 month position.
The School Board will interview each individual whose name is submitted for consideration at its July 13, 2023 meeting in the open and public board meeting and will make the appointment within thirty days of the actual vacancy. Questions may be submitted to Dawn McMillan at the above email address.
