College signing day at SSHS, complete with color coded donuts. Which color would you choose? Congratulations to our students who committed to taking the next step in their education and life! Several students stopped by throughout the day to place a sticker on their picture. We're so happy to see the various colleges, universities, trade schools and employment industries represented. The Class of 2024 is ready to change the world one class, one job, one person at a time. #WeAreSouthSummit #SSHSWildcats #ClassOf2024 #MirrorLakeDonuts

Our 4th graders know him as Dayton Fry, the Science Guy, but we know Dayton as a semifinalist for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. By executive order of the President, the program was created sixty years ago to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Dayton is one of eight Utah candidates, which have been narrowed down from 4,000 applicants, which will be narrowed down again to 161 final scholars. Not just anyone can apply, it's by invitation only. Mrs. Regan nominated Dayton earlier this year and they began the intensive application process soon after. Dayton will find out later this month if his semifinalist status changes to finalist when they announce the official U.S. Presidential Scholars for 2024. Official or not, Dayton is an incredible scholar, person and athlete. We are proud to have him represent South Summit and Utah. #WeAreSouthSummit #SSHSWildcats #PresidentialScholar

Today we officially appreciate our administrative professionals. Thank you for all you do to keep our students, schools, buses and the district running smoothly. #WeAreSouthSummit #AdministrativeProfessionalsDay

So excited to congratulate our 2024-25 student board members. Congratulations Bo (SSA) and Emily (SSHS)! #WeAreSouthSummit #SSSDBoardOfED

The South Summit Band continues to hit all the right notes. They received one superior and two excellent ratings at the recent region festival. Unlike high school sports, music festivals are more of a showcase, rather than a competition. Of all the bands from the region that performed, ours had the second highest results and just barely missed the cut to qualify for state. Not that anyone's keeping score. Congratulations high school band! #WeAreSouthSummit #SSHSWildcats #BandRocks

Congratulations to our All-State drill team member! We are proud of our talented students. #WeAreSouthSummit #SSHSWildcats

We can't let the week pass by without celebrating our amazing Assistant Principals during National Assistant Principals Week, April 1-5. A huge shoutout of appreciation for the dedication of Mr. Fierro, Mr. Brown and Mrs. Wilkinson and all of their hard work on behalf of our students and staff! #WeAreSouthSummit #APWeek24 #SSHSWildcats #SouthSummitMiddle #SSElemWildcats

Today is a very special day. It's National Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! It's Spring Break, so we don't get to thank them in person, but we want our paras to know how much we appreciate them today and EVERY day! Thanks for all you do for our students! #WeAreSouthSummit #Paraprofessionals #ParaprofessionalAppreciationDay24

Mrs. Small's Sewing Construction and Textiles class has been busy learning new skills and making a big difference in some little lives. The class recently sewed more than 80 baby blankets to donate to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Primary Children's Hospital. It's 'sew' neat to see our students not just threading needles, but sewing seeds of compassion and kindness. #WeAreSouthSummit #UTPublicEd #PrimaryChildrensHospital #SSHSWildcats

We know that we have some amazingly talented students in our schools. But it's always nice when the judges agree with us. Our Music Department recently competed in Region events. Ellis Leary performed in the Piano Solo Event and Ivy Jackson performed in the Instrumental Woodwind Solo Event (accompanied by Ellis Leary). They both qualified to perform at the UHSAA State Solo and Ensemble!! Additionally, our Tapestry, who performed in the Chamber Choir Event qualified as well. Congratulations, students and directors-Mr. Beal and Mr. Scribner! That is truly music to our ears!

Resiliency Night's Breakout #2 is all about building a resilient community. Come learn how we can help support our peers and friends. #WeAreSouthSummit #SummitCountyHealth #ResiliencyNight

Wrapping up School Social Work Week! Let's applaud our inspiring school social workers! Their commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments and addressing students' needs makes a world of difference. Thank you for being the guiding lights in our schools! Mrs. Cook loves helping students find ways to connect to themselves and others in healthy and sustainable ways, along with helping them to tolerate the less than stellar days that they invariably have.
Their efforts align perfectly with the fourth goal of our School Board's Strategic Plan: Implement an effective mental health and social and emotional learning program.

Happy School Social Work Week! Big and small, our school social workers are making a difference in our schools! Their impact is invaluable in the lives of our students and families.

Celebrating School Social Work Week! Shoutout to the incredible school social workers who bring their expertise and unique educational background to our schools. They help create a positive and inclusive environment for students. Their presence contributes to the holistic development and well-being of students and strengthens the overall effectiveness of our school community. With the help of Mrs. Luther at South Summit Elementary we saw a 44% decrease in office referrals from the first to the second quarter and an increase in student attendance. #WeAreSouthSummit #SSWW24#PearlsOfWisdom #SchoolSocialWorkWeek
