Traditionally, the ACT has been the college entrance exam preferred by all of the Utah colleges and Universities.  Schools have used the ACT to help determine college admissions, scholarships, and class placement.

All Juniors at SSHS will have the opportunity to take the ACT for free in the Spring.  We recommend that students take the ACT at least twice and suggest that, if possible, you take it in the spring/summer at the end of your junior year.

We will mention that many things are currently in flux with the ACT due to COVID and college changes.

How important the ACT seems to you personally likely depends on your specific college/career goals.  For any student looking to bump up their ACT score a few points, we recommend some ACT prep.  There are many options available, but there are 3 in particular that SSHS students have easy access to: Navigator, Shmoop, and ACT.  Click on the images below for more information.
