The South Summit Band continues to hit all the right notes. They received one superior and two excellent ratings at the recent region festival. Unlike high school sports, music festivals are more of a showcase, rather than a competition. Of all the bands from the region that performed, ours had the second highest results and just barely missed the cut to qualify for state. Not that anyone's keeping score. Mrs. Small's Sewing Construction and Textiles class has been busy learning new skills and making a big difference in some little lives. The class recently sewed more than 80 baby blankets to donate to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Primary Children's Hospital.
