Congratulations to the South Summit Wildcats on their outstanding performance at the 2025 Utah 3A State Boys and Girls Wrestling Championships! Our athletes showcased exceptional talent and determination, contributing to a remarkable team effort. We are incredibly proud to highlight our individual state champions: Ben Smith: Dominated the 175 lbs weight class, finishing his senior season with an impressive 47-3 record. Ryker Woodward: Excelled in the 190 lbs category, concluding his senior year with a stellar 45-3 record. Trayvn Boger: Triumphed in the 285 lbs division, ending his junior season with a remarkable 43-4 record. Additionally, our Wildcats delivered strong performances. Seniors, it's time to apply for the Opportunity Scholarship! The Opportunity Scholarship is a statewide, achievement-based program that encourages students to complete advanced courses in core subject areas, aims to make higher education more accessible, and rewards students for preparing academically for college. It can be used at all Utah public colleges, as well as BYU, Ensign College and Westminster, and will be awarded to everyone who qualifies! The application is super easy, and the final deadline is 3/21/25. You must file a FAFSA in order to qualify.

Welcome, Coach Mike Shearer! South Summit High School is excited to welcome Mike Shearer as our new head volleyball coach! Coach Shearer brings a wealth of experience, a deep passion for the game, and a strong connection to our volleyball community. Coach Shearer's impressive background includes: -Playing on the University of Utah Men’s Volleyball Club team. -Over 10 years of coaching experience with high school-level club teams. -Attending renowned coaching clinics, including Gold Medal Squared, the UofU Coaching Clinic, and Penn State University’s program. -Serving as an assistant coach for South Summit High School volleyball over the past two years, fostering relationships with players and staff. Aligned with the positive feedback from our volleyball community, Coach Shearer’s leadership will provide consistency and stability for our program as we move forward.
