Student Emma Broadbent: Shatters School and Utah State Records

South Summit senior Emma Broadbent has shattered the Utah state career rebounds record, surpassing the previous mark of 1,464 set nearly three decades ago. After securing 20 rebounds on Tuesday and adding 21 more during Thursday’s senior night win, her career total now stands at 1,494, with playoffs still ahead. Described by coach Matt Mapstone as “a once-in-a-generation player,” Broadbent has led the state in rebounding for three straight seasons, currently averaging 20.3 rebounds and 20.4 points per game while maintaining an impressive 65-game streak of double-digit rebounds. Though dominant on the basketball court, she plans to play volleyball at Southern Virginia University.
