Fourteen-year-old Marshall Conklin, a freshman at South Summit High School, had an unforgettable experience this summer when jazz legend Wynton Marsalis invited him onstage to play trumpet during a concert at Red Butte Garden Amphitheater.
Conklin, who has played trumpet for three years, performed alongside Marsalis without sheet music. The young musician continues to develop his talents through local performances and the Teal Tones jazz combo.
