Parents,
Summit County Sheriff's Office asked all schools in Kamas to go into "Shelter in Place" this afternoon for a short amount of time, which means that normal activity within the school resumes, but nobody is allowed in or out of the schools. No students or staff were in danger and by keeping the doors locked and not allowing entrance from from the outside we continued to keep them safe.
The shelter in place was removed today at 2:25 p.m. and bus transportation resumed their regularly scheduled routes. Elementary students may be slightly delayed because of the delay leaving the school with secondary students.

South Summit School‘s are still open. Safety is our priority and if transportation prohibits students from attending today, their absence will be considered excused. However they must be excused by a parent/guardian.
